Anyone can say "eco-friendly". Here is what we actually commit to, specifically enough that you could catch us out.
Reuse first, every load
Anything with life left in it is offered for reuse before recycling is even considered. Reuse beats recycling every time, no shredder, no furnace, no new materials. Roughly a third of bulky waste can live again, and we treat finding that third as part of the job.
Over 90 percent diverted from landfill
That is our target on every load, achieved by sorting: metals, timber, WEEE, green waste and reusables pulled out before anything is written off. The residue goes to energy recovery, not a hole. We say target because honest numbers vary by load, and we would rather publish a target we chase than a statistic we invented.
The regulated streams, done by the book
Fridges are degassed at licensed facilities. Everything with a plug goes through approved WEEE treatment. Commercial customers get waste transfer notes without asking. The paperwork is boring and we love it, because the paperwork is what keeps fridges out of hedgerows.
Photo confirmation, every job
When your collection is done you get photos. Landlords use them for deposit schemes, executors for solicitors, and everyone else for the small satisfaction of seeing the garage floor again. It is also our accountability: a firm that photographs every job cannot quietly fly-tip one.
Straight answers about the hard stuff
Stained foam is not recyclable and we say so. Chipboard mostly becomes energy, not new chipboard. Landfill still exists at the end of the chain for a stubborn few percent. If a waste company has never told you anything like this, ask yourself what else it is not telling you.

What does "energy recovery" actually mean?
Modern energy-from-waste plants burn non-recyclable waste under strict emissions controls to generate electricity and heat, the same plants many councils use for household bins. It sits below recycling and above landfill in the hierarchy, and we use it only for what genuinely cannot be recycled.
Can I ask where my specific load went?
Yes. Reply to your confirmation email and ask. Because loads are sorted into streams we can tell you where each stream from your route day was sent. Nobody ever asks twice, but the fact that you can is rather the point.
